Inspired by the countless magic bars in Japan’s nightlife districts, Broad Encounters introduced this whimsical experience across Australia. Melbourne had the privilege of Maho Magic Bar’s presence for 13 weeks in the heart of the CBD, at Golden Square open-air car park.

Audiences access the site via Chinatown’s Celestial Lane and are immediately transported to the bright lights of Japan under Maho’s bright neon-lit dome. Five expert magicians, carefully scouted from Japan, perform their magic up close at bar tables while audiences enjoy gorgeous cocktails, mocktails, and Japanese liquor.
